IEC61850 1 Day Workshop

The Future of Substation Automation

Netcontrol are holding a one day workshop seminar on Thursday 25th September 2014 on working examples of IEC61850 for substation automation and the best practices of implementing IP into the substation.  The seminar will be hosted by Netcontrol UK and held at Robinsons Brewery Visitors Centre in the heart of Stockport Town Centre, a short drive from Manchester.netcon-2.gif


The core aim of the workshop is to look at the issues and benefits surrounding a transtion to an IEC61850 substation and the surrounding impact on cyber security, communications and an ‘All-IP Infrastructure’

INFO TECH, Poland - An overview of IEC61850

Netcontrol, United Kingdom - The All-IP substation architecture

Ruggedcom-Siemens, United Kingdom - How to put IP into the substation

Netcontrol, United Kingdom - Cyber Security for the modern substation

Elenia, Finland - A DNO’s experience of how and why to switch to IEC61850

Additionally, there will be an opportunity to have hands on experience or demonstrations on how to integrate IED’s from multiple vendors into a substation gateway.

Anyone with an interest in the impact of implementing IEC61850 into a substation and how it impacts on the wider needs for communication, IP structure and cyber security.
