Netcontrol win large RTU orders for Hydro Electric stations in Brazil

Building on their success of providing highly technical solutions for the Itaipu Hydro Station (the world's largest by annual output), Netcontrol have won orders to provide large RTUs for two more Brazilian Hydro Stations.

The largest of the Netcon 500 RTU's will be installed at the 244-MW Fundao-Santa Clara Hydro Electric complex on the Jordao River in Brazil's Parana State. This unit has the capacity to monitor some 5,000 IO points and will include logic functions for the hydro facility. The Hydro complex is operated by Centrais Eletricas do Rio Jordao S/A (Elejor) of which the Brazilian utility Companhia Paranaense de Energia (COPEL) owns 70 percent.

The other RTU will be installed at the 20MW Mucuri Hydro complex. The plant is located between the municipalities of Carlos Chagas and Pavao, in the southeastern Minas Gerais state. It is owned by local power firm Mucuri Energetica. This RTU has a sized capacity to monitor some 3,300 IO points.
