Process Interface

The process terminals of the RTU28-IP are divided into three groups, analogue inputs, digital-/pulse- inputs and digital outputs. In addition there are terminals for power supply. Terminals are disconnectable and include test points.

Digital Inputs

16 Digital Inputs, galvanically isolated. Active signal (according to IEC 870-3):

  • Lower signal-level (0) = -5 … +15 %, max 0,2 mA
  • Upper signal-level (1) = +75 ... +125 %, 5 ... 10 mA
  • State indicator: LED

Each Digital Input may individually be defined as a pulse input. A group of DI:s can be defined as BCD digital measurements.

Analogue Input

  • 4 AI, current range: -22 ... +22 mA
  • Max overcurrent: -66 ... +66 mA
  • Current indicator: 2-colour LED

Accuracy 10 bits or better for given current and temperature range. Resolution of measurement is 15 bits.

Digital Output

  • 8 DO, separate power connector.
  • Support for both pulse- and static commands
  • Maximum total output current: 400 mA
  • Maximum current for a single terminal: 100 mA
  • External output voltage supply: 24 V or 48 V
  • Active signal (according to IEC 870-3)
  • State indicator: LED

If a larger amount of I/O:s is reguired, several RTU28 units can be connected to communication unit and thus I/O amount can be big.
